GIG-IRM – the first facility in India located in Ahmedabad and manufactures Indian first-ever glass insulators, bringing electricity to every village of the beautiful country. The initiative to set up local manufacturing of glass insulators was a co-decision of two large companies: Global Insulator Group and IRM Group. Global Insulator Group is an international holding focused on sales and manufacture of glass, composite, porcelain insulators, and hardware fittings for overhead power lines and switchgear, 0.4 kV to 1150 kV stations, and substations. Whereas, IRM Group is one of the largest and the most respected companies in India’s private sector. The activities of both companies reflected in the local program “Make in India”, devised to transform India into a global design and manufacturing hub.
